Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
Edmonton, AB - Hockey Canada announced earlier today that Edmonton Oil Kings Head Coach Brad Lauer is one of six coaches that will take part in their National Junior Team's Summer Camp.
Lauer, a Humboldt, SK product, is coming off his fourth year as the Oil Kings bench boss after joining the organization ahead of the 2018-19 season following a decade coaching the NHL and AHL.
In 223 regular season games behind the Oil Kings bench, he has amassed a record of 154-46-13-10 and has added a post-season record of 26-9, helping guide his team to the 2022 WHL Championship.
Following the 2019-20 season, he was awarded the WHL's Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as the league's Coach of the Year, becoming the first Oil Kings coach in franchise history to win the award.
44 players - four goaltenders, 14 defenceman and 26 forwards - will be on the ice in Calgary, AB for the camp, set for July 23-27.
The camp roster features 26 players that have been selected in the NHL Draft, including eight first-round picks: Nolan Allan (CHI), Brandt Clarke (LAK), Corson Ceulemans (CBJ), Zach Dean (VGK), Wyatt Johnston (DAL), Zachary L'Heureux (NSH), Brennan Othmann (NYR) and Chase Stillman (NJD).
