Corpus Christi, Texas - The Corpus Christi IceRays have announced their schedule for the 2023-24 season.
Opening weekend kicks off Friday, September 22 and Saturday Sept. 23 as the IceRays begin their 26th season and 13th season as a member of the North American Hockey League against the El Paso Rhinos at the American Bank Center.
The IceRays will play a 56-game regular season schedule against eight other teams in the South Division, plus four contests at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota.
The South Division now consists of nine teams with the addition of the Colorado Grit.
The IceRays will play 13 Friday night games, 12 Saturday night games, one Thursday night contest on the final week of the season, and one game on Sunday.
All Friday and Saturday games will begin at 7:05 p.m. The games on Sunday, December 3 and Sunday, February 11, both against the Shreveport Mudbugs, will start at 4 p.m. and the contest on Thursday, April 4 against the Odessa Jackalopes will start at 10 a.m.
Corpus Christi finished the 2022-23 regular season 11-42-6 with one shootout loss and 29 points and looks to rebound this season.
After the opening weekend, the Ice Rays will play a pair of games on the road against the Amarillo Wranglers Sept. 29 and Sept. 30.
The Ice Rays will host the Oklahoma Warriors Friday October 6 and Saturday Oct. 7.
Then the Lone Star Brahmas come to town October 27 and 28.
Oklahoma returns November 10 and 11 at the American Bank Center.
Following road trips to Oklahoma November 17 and 18, Thanksgiving Week, Wednesday, November 22 at Lone Star, and at the Colorado Grit Friday, November 24
and Saturday, Nov. 25, the IceRays return home to host the Shreveport Mudbugs for a three-game weekend, Friday, December 1 and 2 at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, December 3 at 4 p.m.
Odessa closes out the 2023 portion of the IceRays home schedule with Games December 29 and 30 at the American Bank Center.
Following a pair of games at Shreveport, January 5 and 6, the IceRays open their 2024 home schedule against the New Mexico Ice Wolves January 12 and 13.
After games January 19 and 20 at El Paso, Amarillo comes to town January 26 and 27.
February brings Shreveport to the American Bank Center for three games, February 9 and 10 at 7:05 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m.
The IceRays will have three consecutive home weekends against New Mexico, Feb. 23 and 24, against Colorado March 1 and 2 and against Lone Star March 8 and 9.
Following a road weekend at New Mexico, March 29 and 30, the 2023-24 regular season home schedule will conclude against Odessa, Thursday, April 11 at 10 a.m., and Friday, April 5 at 7:05.
Opponents for the 2023 NAHL Showcase at the Schwann Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota will be announced later.
