
Boyes, Bruins win in Springfield

The Providence Bruins played the fourth of six consecutive road games on Friday night in Springfield, skating to a 4-1 decision over the Falcons. The Bruins are tied for third place in the Atlantic Division with their 19-11-2-5 record (45 points). The Bruins are 10-1-0-3 in their last 14 games, taking 23 of the last possible 28 points. Center Brad Boyes had scored the game-winning goal (13), and added an assist. Defenseman Milan Jurcina added his fourth goal of the season, while left wing Dan LaCouture (7) tallied a shorthanded marker. Center Patrice Bergeron, in his first game back from the World Jr. Championships, notched his 11th goal of the season. Left wing David Gove had two assists.
Bruin goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 23 shots to improve to 16-9-3.

The Bruins return home to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday, January 14 at 7:05 p.m. and the Worcester IceCats on Sunday, January 16 at 4:05 p.m. The first 4,000 fans in attendance on Friday will receive a free Providence Bruins hat, courtesy of the Rhode Island Lottery and WPRI CBS-12.
