New York Boulders News Release
The Rockland Boulders picked up a 15-7 win over the Trois-Rivieres Aigles Friday evening in the first of three games against the Canadian club. Mikael Mogues dropped a double into shallow left field to score Kevin Krause in the bottom of the second. Mike Montville sent a two-run shot into orbit right after Mogues' at-bat, giving Rockland a 3-0 advantage early on.
After the Aigles put up a run in the top of the third, Conor Bierfeldt answered with a solo shot in the bottom of the inning. Trois-Rivieres answered with 2-run homer in the fourth to make it 4-3, but the Boulders buckled down from thereon out. Mike Montville added an RBI triple in the fourth and then scored on a sac fly off the bat of Jason Agresti to make it a 6-3 game. The Boulders came up huge in the fifth, gashing the Aigles' bullpen for seven innings, punctuated by a 3-run laser over the short porch off the bat of JC Rodriguez. The Boulders had a double-digit lead, which was more than enough to put away the Aigles.
