One week after taking two games out of three against the New Jersey Jackals, the Rockland Boulders were back at it on Friday night at Yogi Berra Stadium.

Rockland plated 10 runs against the Jackals to win game one of the series, 10-2.

First baseman Mikael Mogues connected for his fourth home run of the year, a three run shot in the top of the second to give the Boulders a 3-0 lead.

In the top of the fourth, center fielder Jared McDonald hit a two run triple to extend the Boulders lead to 5-0.

Jackals third baseman Seth Spivey responded in the bottom of the frame with an RBI single to score first baseman Dean Green to put New Jersey on the board.

Designated hitter Marcus Nidiffer hit the second three run homer of the game for Rockland, a blast to center field for his third of the year to put the game out of reach at 8-1.

After an error brought home catcher Kevin Krause, shortstop Jared McDonald hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh to put the Boulders up 10-1.

Spivey scored on an error in the bottom of the frame to give the Jackals its second run of the night.

Rockland starting pitcher Justin Topa was tremendous on Friday, completing seven innings while allowing just one earned run while scattering eight hits and striking out five.

Topa earned his first win of the season.

New Jersey returns to action on June 8 in game two of the series beginning at 6:05 P.M.
