Boswell Named Lowgators President

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., November 4, 2003 â Mike Boswell has been named team president of the North Charleston Lowgators, according to an announcement today by National Basketball Development League president Phil Evans. Boswell replaces Peter Ricciardi, who resigned to enter private business.
Boswell, a native of Pennsylvania, has been with the Lowgators since November of 2002 as director of sales. He has also worked in sales management in Major League Baseball for the Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants. Boswell also worked in professional hockey for the Denver Grizzlies of the IHL and the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL.
"Obviously, I am excited to continue down the path that Peter Ricciardi and I began when we both came to Charleston a year ago," Boswell said. "The Lowgators will continue to be family friendly entertainment at an affordable cost. We will build upon our community involvement through player appearances, the Read to Achieve Program and more."
Evans said that Boswell's extensive professional sports experience, and the fact that he has been in the Charleston market for the last year, will help ensure a smooth transition.
"First of all, I want to thank Peter Ricciardi for helping us lay the foundation for making the Lowgators an important part of the Charleston area landscape," Evans said. "As we move into year three, we are excited about continuing to build upon the successes we had in year two."
