
Boston Breakers Waive Defender Lauren Lazo

WATERTOWN, Mass. - The Boston Breakers waived defender Lauren Lazo, it was announced today.
Lazo, 22, appeared in three preseason games for the Breakers in 2016. As a rookie in 2015, the Scottsdale, Ariz. native started 11 of the 14 games she appeared in for the Breakers, logging 1,025 minutes.
The former Princeton University star scored one goal on seven shots on goal during her rookie season. Her first professional goal came on July 25, 2015, a 3-1 loss on the road against Sky Blue FC. Lazo made her professional debut on May 16, 2015, starting in a 1-0 win over Portland Thorns FC at home.
The Boston Breakers open up the 2016 NWSL season on the road April 16 at the Washington Spirit before returning to Boston for their home opener on Sunday, April 24, against Seattle Reign FC. Tickets are on sale now at breakerstickets.com.
