Boston Breakers Re-Sign Defender Julie King

HANOVER, Mass. (Nov. 13, 2014) - The Boston Breakers announced today the club has re-signed defender Julie King and midfielder Maddy Evans. Per team and league policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

King, 25, returns to Boston for her third NWSL season. In 2014, the St. Louis, Mo. native started all 17 games she appeared in, playing 1,530 minutes, third-most on the team. King also scored one goal and had one assist during the 2014 season.

The Auburn alum notched her first professional goal on April 27, 2014, a 3-2 win at home against Sky Blue FC. In two NWSL seasons with the Breakers, King has started in all 38 of her appearances and has one goal and two assists in 3,392 minutes.

King also spent the 2012 WPSL Elite season with the Breakers, where she appeared in 14 games and registered one assist.

Evans, 23, is back for her third season with the Breakers. The Glenside, Pa. native started eight of the 17 games she appeared in during the 2014 season, logging 730 minutes. Evans also tallied three assists, tied for second-most on the team.

In 2013, her rookie season, the Penn State product made two starts in 11 appearances, debuting on June 1, 2013 at Sky Blue FC. She was the first-ever Breakers Reserve team player signed to a professional contract. She played on the reserves in the summer of 2012.
