College baseball will take center stage at Fraser Field next week when the Boston Baseball Beanpot comes to Lynn.

The preliminary round of the Baseball Beanpot will be played on Tuesday, April 18th with games at 4 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Northeastern University will take on defending-champion Harvard in the early contest and Boston College squares off with UMass Amherst in the late game.

Tickets are $5 and will be honored at both games. The Fraser Field gates will open at 3 p.m. All fans must enter the Stadium through the South entrance at Fraser Field located off of Locust Street. Buses will be permitted to drop off at this location as well, and then will be directed to parking.

Fraser Field will have limited concessions available for fans looking to spend their afternoon at the Park. The North Shore Spirit is excited to welcome all of these fans to Lynn to show off a great baseball venue.

"We're proud to sponsor, in conjunction with the City of Lynn, the first round of the Boston Baseball Beanpot," said Spirit General Manager Brent Connolly.

The Spirit is also proud to welcome back some former local stars who excelled in high schools throughout the North Shore.

Boston College junior outfielder Pete Frates played his high school ball at St. John's Prep, while teammate James MacDonald, a freshman pitcher, played for Danvers High. Northeastern freshman Anthony DiCesare, a Lynnfield native, spent his high school career at Governor Dummer Academy in Byfield.

UMass Amherst boasts the largest contingent of local talent including Lynn native and former Lynn English star Brent Tarasuik, a sophomore pitcher/outfielder. Freshman pitcher Mike Dicato, a Winthrop native, played for Malden Catholic High School. Sophomore catcher Bryan Garrity played for Peabody High School. Beverly-native Jeff Giannino, a red shirt freshman first baseman, played at Bishop Fenwick.
