Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release

BOSSIER CITY - While a lot of the talk about the Bossier/Shreveport Battle Wings is how they're performing on the field, the players themselves are doing some talking too - in local classrooms.

Winger, the Battle Wings' mascot, player/personnel director Clay Moose and a host of Battle Wing players are visiting area elementary schools this week to promote reading and physical fitness. The Battle Wing contingents were at Central Park Elementary on Tuesday and will visit three other schools as well.

On Wednesday, the 'Wings are scheduled to make two appearances, one at 9 a.m. at Bossier Elementary with the other scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Curtis Elementary.

Thursday morning, members of the club will meet at Stoner Hill Elementary at 8:30 a.m., then in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Youree Drive Elementary.

Players will visit Cope Middle School at 8:15 a.m. Friday morning, then attend the St. Joseph's field day activities for the rest of the morning.

The Bossier/Shreveport Battle Wings are proud to be a part of the Caddo and Bossier Parish communities. Giving time for the children in the schools may be the most important and lasting impact they can make as players on the youth of the two sister cities. Player appearances can be arranged by contacting Greg Little at the Battle Wings headquarters, 4400 Barksdale Boulevard in Bossier City, (318) 746-8755.
