Bakersfield Blitz News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Blitz return home hot off the heels of a franchise record 75 points in a road victory against the Bossier- Shreveport Battle Wings. At 2-3, they will attempt to get back to .500 this weekend against fellow West Division foes the Tulsa Talons (3-2), this Friday, May 13th at 7:00 p.m.
Friday's game is Guaranteed Win Night, and if the Blitz don't beat Tulsa, every fan in the building will get a free ticket to the next Blitz home game, which is the following Friday night against the San Diego Riptide. The guarantee will continue, and if they don't beat Tulsa or San Diego it will roll over into ensuing Blitz home games. In essence, every fan at this Friday's game against the Talons is guaranteed to eventually see a victory.
In addition, the first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles will get a free Blitz Dashboard Memo Pad. These handy note takers can be affixed to the inside of your car, easing the process of remembering life- altering thoughts or important information that always come to us while sitting behind the wheel in traffic (or that license plate of the car that just cut you off). The memo pads are sponsored by Blitz flagship station KGEO "Hot Talk" AM 1230.
"We're 2-0 in the history of Guaranteed Win Nights in Bakersfield Sports Entertainment history," said BSE President Matthew Riley. "We had an emotional victory over the San Diego Riptide last season on Guaranteed Win Night, and the Condors also had a thrilling upset win when they guaranteed victory against the Gulls several years back. We just wanted to rub the karma our way for this big game against Tulsa."
"Tulsa is always tough with a great arena tradition," said Head Coach Rick Van Horne. "People are going to get to witness a great game Friday night. They have a very good organization top to bottom, which is why they were 2003 Arena Cup Champions."
