THE STAKES: Tulsa will be hoping to rebound from their second loss this season in the Turnpike Rivalry with Oklahoma City.
The Battle Wings will be looking to start their first winning streak since a 3-game set of wins back in the summer of 2002.

THE SERIES: Tulsa leads 4-1, winning the last three. Bossier-Shreveport last beat Tulsa 27-14 April 13, 2002 in Bossier City.

HEAD COACHES: First-year Battle Wings head coach Keith Barefield's resume includes 19 years in the field, 10 as head coach at Evangel University in Springfield, MO where he compiled a 66-33-2 record. He coached 48 All-Americans before moving to San Antonio's Cornerstone Christian School to begin the football program there. While at Cornerstone, Barefield compiled a 23-2 record in two years at the helm including the 2002 Texas state championship.
Just recently, Barefield has been named the offensive coordinator at national prep power Evangel Christian in Shreveport (1999 National Champions).

Tulsa Talons-Ken Matous, Matous comes to Tulsa after spending the 2002 season as offensive coordinator at Western Carolina University, and 2001 as an assistant coach with the Carolina Cobras of the Arena Football League. Matous, who brings 23 years of educating, coaching and recruiting experience to Tulsa, replaces Skip Foster, who moved up to coach the AFL's Austin Wranglers.


SERIES NOTABLES: Until the Battle Wings lost to Memphis 69-29 two weeks ago, Tulsa's 66-36 win over the Wings in the 2003 regular season finale was the worst defeat ever for Bossier-Shreveport. The Talons are the defending Central Division Champion, National Conference Champion and Arena Cup Champion.
