Green Bay Rockers News Release
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - The Green Bay Booyah picked up right where they left off before the All-Star Break. They defeated the Battle Creek Bombers on Thursday, 12-4.
Green Bay got on the board first in the opening frame when Max Wagner (Clemson) drove in Dalton Pearson (Georgia State) with a single to left field.
The Bombers answered back with two unanswered runs to have a lead entering the third inning. That's when Pearson hit a single that scored Nadir Lewis (Princeton). After stealing both second and third, Pearson was able to score during Wagner's next at-bat when he came in to score on a wild pitch to take a 3-2 lead.
Green Bay would not turn back after that. In the fourth, Kaden Hollow hit a solo home run to right field to make it a 4-2 lead. It was Hollow's sixth home run of the season, which gives him the most on the team.
In the fifth inning, the Booyah broke it open. They brought ten men to the dish and scored five runs in the frame. That widened the margin to 9-2.
Green Bay would add another three runs in the final stages of the game and finished with the eight-run win. Logan Lee (Northwood) picked up his fourth win of the season. He pitched six innings, allowing two runs, one unearned, one walk with four strikeouts. Joseph Hettinger (Washington University in St. Louis) picked up the three-inning save.
The Booyah and the Bombers are slated to finish their two-game series tomorrow at C.O. Brown Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 pm CDT. The Booyah will turn to Evan Estridge (Clemson) to wrap up the series.
