
Boone Has Solid Start- But Fisher Cats Fall 3-1 in Trenton

(Trenton, NJ)--Eric Thames belted his team-leading 21st home run, a solo shot in the fourth inning, but the Fisher Cats dropped the opener of a four-game set in Trenton, 3-1, Thursday night at Waterfront Park.
Randy Boone (2-7) was the hard luck-loser, working into the eighth inning, allowing nine hits. He walked two and struck out three in losing his fifth straight decision.
Trenton (64-41) scored twice in the third inning. Luis Nunez led off the inning with a triple and scored on a double by Justin Snyder to make it 1-0. Austin Krum singled Snyder home to give Trenton a 2-0 lead.
New Hampshire (62-44) got on the board in the top of the fourth inning on the Thames' homer off winning pitcher Lance Pendleton (10-4). That made it 2-1 Trenton.
The only other run was Austin Romine's homer in Trenton's 8th inning.
Lance Pendleton (10-4) earned the win, working six innings. He allowed four hits, walked one and struck out six. George Kontos worked two scoreless and Ryan Pope finished for his eighht save.
The Fisher Cats continue the four-game series against the Trenton Thunder at Waterfront Park on Friday night at 7:05pm. New Hampshire right-hander Rey Gonzalez (1-2, 8.44) is scheduled to get the start against Trenton right-hander Hector Noesi (6-2, 2.44). Fisher Cats Pre-Game begins at 6:45pm with Bob Lipman on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
When the Fisher Cats return home Tuesday to play Richmond, it will be Franco-American Night and it will be a Kraft Singles Tuesday, where fans can exchange Kraft wrappers for buy one, get one free tickets at the box office.
