Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators held a bookmark design contest this year as part of the team's Youth Reading Program. More than 2,000 entries were received from 30 schools throughout Central Pennsylvania. The winner of the contest was Sierra Stephens of Mechanicsburg Middle School.
The winning design will be made into a printed bookmark with more than 20,000 used in the reading program.
This year's theme was "Read and Hit a Home Run." Children from kindergarten through middle school were eligible. Sierra Stephens will have her design printed by Huggins Printing Company of Harrisburg. Huggins Printing was a co-sponsor for the contest.
For her outstanding design, Stephens will receive: 10 undated reserved seat vouchers, 10 Senators dollars, a Senators cap and t-shirt, an official baseball and opportunity to throw out a first pitch at a Senators' home game during the 2004 season at Commerce Bank Park.
The winning design is available at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
