Bombers Walk-Off in Extra Innings for Seventh Straight Win

Bryan-College Station, TX (July 18, 2015) - The Brazos Valley Bombers recorded their seventh straight victory in walk-off fashion to take the first game of a two-game series against the East Texas PumpJacks by a score of 3-2 in 11 innings.

After the PumpJacks took a 2-1 lead in the top half of the 11th inning, Bombers shortstop Jacob Chappell stepped to the plate with two base runners on and a chance to send the electric Cellucor Field crowd home happy. Chappell delivered with a two-run double into the right-centerfield gap, scoring Geonte Jackson and Blake Kopetsky and giving the Bombers a 3-2 victory. Brandon Pennington earned his first victory of the year on the mound for the Bombers.

The Bombers' record improves to 30-6 overall and 11-2 in the second half. In search of their ninth consecutive half-season championship; the Bombers remain one game ahead of the Victoria Generals, who currently sit in second place.

Saturday night was Craft and Antique Night with an antique show taking place at Cellucor Field. Saturday was also Kids Free Saturday, where children ages 13 and under received free admission thanks to Chicken Express.

The Bombers' four-game homestand concludes on Sunday against the East Texas PumpJacks with Seniors Free Sunday, including free admission for seniors and Baseball Bingo, thanks to Brazos Bingo. Sunday will also feature the Bombers' Inaugural Grandma Pageant, presented by Enlivant.
