Bombers Sweep the Baton Rouge Rougarou

Bryan/College Station - The Bombers finding themselves in a pitching duel with the Rougarou early on but were able to carry out the win with a strong bullpen performance playing 5 2/3 innings. The Bombers offense came alive in the middle of the ball game and didn't look back, closing out the Rougarou with a final score of 4-0.

The Bombers starting in the fourth inning Logan Sartori runs in Chase Kemp on a sacrifice fly to the first run of the night. Going into the bottom of the fifth, Ridge Rogers singles on a line drive and runs in Hunter Dobbins and Tyler Smith to increase the lead to 3-0. In the bottom of the eighth, Hunter Dobbins hit a triple to right field and while he was unable to avoid the catcher at home plate, he was able to run in Logan Sartori.

Several players had productive nights at the plate with Ridge Rogers leading with 3 hits including a double and was able to bring in two of the four runs for the Bombers. As well as Hunter Dobbins with 2 hits including a triple in the bottom of the eighth to bring in the final run of the game.

The Bombers were effective in tonight's game with a bullpen combination of Amado Almanzar, Sam McElreath, Cole Sichely, and Joe Buckendorff. Cole Sichley pitching two innings with five strikeouts and only giving up one hit.

The Bombers return home again tomorrow to face off against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. The scheduled start time will be at 7:05 pm. Join us for Crazy Animal night brought to you by Franklin Drive-Thru Safari. Bring the whole family and enjoy nine innings of entertainment!
