
Bombers Sweep Doubleheader against Marshals

Fort Worth, TX - The Bombers played a double header in Fort Worth and came away with two wins for the ball club. The Bombers jumped out on the Marshals early in the first game which ended with a final score of 4-2. The second game the Marshals had an early lead, but the Bombers put runs on the board late in the game to come out on top 3-2.
In the first game of the series, Christian Sepulveda scored on an error in the 2nd, bringing the score to 1-0 Bombers. Danny Mitchell Jr. walked to first base, then stole second base and later scored off of Cole Coker's single to push the lead to 2-0. The ball club fell silent for a couple of innings, meanwhile the Marshals scored two lighting a fire in the Bombers dugout. In the 6th inning, Christian Sepulveda scored off of a fly ball to left field by Alex Nielson. In the 7th inning, Mitchell scores off of a sacrifice fly hit by Cole Coker to make the final score of the 4-2. Cody LeCompte was on the mound for the Bombers and pitched the entire game to earn the win.
In the second game the Marshals gave the Bombers a scare, leading the game 2-0 in the 3rd inning. The Bombers responded in the 4th scoring 2 runs that was initiated by a Christian Sepulveda walk. Kyle Bergeron then slugged one to right field knocking Sepulveda in to give the Bombers their first run of the game. Dylan Bonhert hit a double and then scored off of Dylan Gardner's double, making the game even at two after four complete innings of play. Both clubs fell silent until Bombers Nathan Pilutti walked to first, stole second, and then later hit in by Chase Kemp's single. Trey Morris, Jared Biddy, and Josh Larzabal shared time on the mound coming away with a nice win for the Bombers ball club.
The Bombers will return to Travis Field Monday, June 18th to start a two-game series against the Texas Marshals. Later in the week they will face the Acadiana Cane Cutters in front of a rowdy home crowd.
