
Bombers Sweep Cane Cutters to Reach 40 Wins

Lafayette, LA (August 5, 2015) - After a dominant 9-0 victory in the first game of a two-game series against the Acadiana Cane Cutters, the Bombers looked to complete the sweep on Wednesday night.
After being held scoreless for the first two innings, the Bombers scored two runs in the 3rd inning, four in the 4th inning and one more in the 5th to take a 7-4 lead. The Cane Cutters were within one run of the Bombers heading into the 9th before the boys in Navy Blue and Vegas Gold scored three more runs to put the Cane Cutters away and win by a score of 11-8.
Future Oklahoma Sooner Ben Hollas hit his first home run of the season, eight of the nine Bombers who recorded an at-bat scored a run, and seven of the nine starters recorded an RBI in the victory.
Following Wednesday night's victory, the Bombers' record now stands at 40-9 overall and 21-5 in the second half. In their pursuit of a second national championship, the Bombers are currently ranked 8th in the nation in the Collegiate Summer Baseball Rankings
The Bombers return home Thursday, August 6 for Spirit Night, presented by Rattler's; and Thirsty Thursday, when beer, soft drinks,and margaritas are one dollar all night long, thanks to Western Beverages.
August 7 will be Aggie Night with a Ty Warren Bobblehead giveaway, thanks to J4 Engineering. August 7 will also be the final regular-season game and final Friday Night Fireworks show of the 2015 season, presented by Brazos Bingo. The Bombers' opponent during the August 6 and 7 homestand will be the East Texas Pump Jacks.
