Bombers sign Canadian offensive lineman Abou-Mechrek

WINNIPEG, MB - The Blue Bombers have signed offensive lineman, Mike Abou-Mechrek. He was originally drafted by Winnipeg in 1999 and played three seasons for the Blue and Gold.

"Mike brings valuable experience and aggressiveness to our offensive line," said Head Coach Jim Daley. "He has played at guard and tackle in his six years in the CFL. We expect Mike to compete for a starting spot on our offensive line."

Abou-Mechrek (Non-Import, 6-6, 305, Western Ontario '98, DOB: October 14, 1975 in Toronto, ON).

THE CFL YEARS - Ottawa Renegades - 2004

Abou-Mechrek started seven regular season games at left tackle.

THE CFL YEARS - Ottawa Renegades - 2003

Abou-Mechrek played in 17 regular season game.

THE CFL YEARS - Ottawa Renegades - 2002

The Renegades claimed Abou-Mechrek from the Blue Bombers in the CFL expansion draft. He played in 17 regular season games.

THE CFL YEARS - Winnipeg Blue Bombers - 2001

Abou-Mechrek started 13 regular season games along with one playoff game and the 2001 Grey Cup.

THE CFL YEARS - Winnipeg Blue Bombers - 2000

Abou-Mechrek had his first CFL start on July 5 against Montreal and started a total of 10 games.

THE CFL YEARS - Winnipeg Blue Bombers - 1999

Abou-Mechrek drafted 32rd overall by Winnipeg and started his first CFL game on October 10 against Hamilton.
