Bombers' Road Trip Continues in Louisiana Versus Cane Cutters
July 23, 2015 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Brazos Valley Bombers News Release
Lafayette, LA (July 23, 2015) - On Thursday night, the Brazos Valley Bombers played the third of four straight road games. After taking on the East Texas Pump Jacks in the first two games of the road trip, the Bombers' next opponent would be the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
Darick Hall had a great game on the mound for the Bombers, throwing seven shutout innings, while only allowing five hits and striking out eight Cane Cutters. Hall also showed off his versatility, with a hit in three at-bats for the Bombers on Thursday.
The Bombers trailed 2-1 entering the 9th inning, but they did not give up, scoring two runs to take a 3-2 lead heading into the bottom half of the inning. That lead would not be enough, however, as the Bombers fell short of a victory by a score of 4-3.
The Bombers' record is now 33-7 overall and 14-3 in the second half.
The Bombers will conclude this four game road trip on Friday before their next home game at Cellucor Field on Saturday, July 25. Saturday will be the first game of a two-game homestand against the Woodlands Strykers. That night will be Agricultural Night, sponsored by Molly Maids, featuring a petting zoo at the ballpark; as well as Kids Free Saturday, with free admission for children 13 and under, thanks to Chicken Express.
