WINNIPEG, MB - One of the longest serving members in team history will be back to get his kicks in with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2007.

The Blue Bombers announced today that kicker Troy Westwood has re-signed with the football club. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Westwood (5-10, 195, Augustana '90, DOB: March 21, 1967 in Dauphin, Man.) completed his 15th CFL season in 2006. He ranks second on the team's all-time most games played list with 278 career games. Only punter Bob Cameron (394) has appeared in more games in a Blue Bomber uniform. Westwood's 278 games played ranks him ninth in CFL history in that category.

A sixth round pick (48th overall) of the Bombers in the 1991 CFL College Draft, Westwood is the team's all-time leading scorer with 2,553 points, which ranks him first amongst active players and fourth in CFL history in that category.

Westwood also leads the football club in several other categories including most points in a season (213 in 1994), most seasons leading the team in scoring (15), most seasons leading the CFL in scoring (3) and most converts made (708).

In 15 playoff games, Westwood has added another 162 points including 42 field goals and 29 converts. He has also appeared in three Grey Cups (1992, 1993 and 2001), chipping in five field goals and five converts.

In 2006, Westwood scored 137 points including 30 field goals, 32 converts and 11 punt singles.

"Troy Westwood is a proven Canadian kicker and that's something that's tough to replace," said Bombers G.M. Brendan Taman. "His passion for the game and his driven attitude towards winning is immeasurable."
