
Bombers Hire Running Backs Coach

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have hired Manny Matsakis as their running backs coach, after a stint as a guest coach in training camp this summer.
Coach Matsakis has over 20 years of NCAA coaching experience, primarily as an offensive coordinator and head coach. He has coached at Kansas State, Hofstra, Emporia State, Wyoming, Texas Tech, Texas State and Capital University since entering the collegiate ranks in 1989. Matsakis has been the head football coach at Emporia State University (1995-98) and Texas State (2004) where his offenses amassed over 65 school, 40 conference and 22 NCAA records and were ranked first nationally numerous times. During his career Matsakis has coached current Blue Bombers Brock Ralph (Wyoming) and Glenn January (Texas Tech) at the collegiate level.
Additionally, he also holds the distinction as the founder of American Football Monthly®, the trade journal for the football coaching profession.
