Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Bombers Catcher and TCU Freshman, Braden Mattson has made a name for himself in the Brazos Valley and in the Texas Collegiate League. After driving in 13 runs in six of the eight games he has played, scoring seven times, and batting a .313, it is no surprise that Mattson was named TCL Player of the Week in week one (June 1-10). His highlight reel does not end there. Mattson also had a three-hit, five RBI performance this season which included a grand slam against East Texas on June 8th. His defense is something to be mentioned as well; especially his ability to make plays happen. During the June 9th game against the Victoria Generals, a wild pitch flew past Mattson and into the backstop. Mattson quickly slid into the dirt and fired the ball to the pitcher at home to prevent a scoring run. The Brazos Valley Bombers are proud to announce Mattson as TCL Player of the Week and look forward to his continued success with the Bombers.

The Bombers play on the road again tonight at 7:05 p.m. against the Marshals before heading back to the Brazos Valley for a two game series against McKinney at American Momentum Bank Ballpark. Be sure to call 979-779-PLAY or visit bvbombers.com for all the latest news, promotions, and tickets.
