Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL. Pending league approval, the Rockford Lightning announced Wednesday, former Gary Steelhead forward, Jermaine Williams, will suit up for the Bolts in the '04-'05 season.
The 6-foot-10, 245 lb. Williams played college basketball as a center for UNC-Charlotte. The Dallas, TX native played in 29 games during the '00-'01 season, including both NCAA Tournament games. Williams, a first team all-state selection, was regarded one of the top ten seniors to graduate from Texas after high school.
Jermaine played 45 games for the Steelheads last season, pulling down 146 rebounds. "Jermaine is an extremely hard worker who will rebound and defend," says Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo, "this is a Coach Thomas signing, he felt that Jermaine can contribute more if given the opportunity, and we will give him that opportunity!"
Fans, don't forget...the first Chris Daleo Coach's Show of the season is set for November 1st at Vicker's Bar and Grill (inside the Mulford Village Shopping Center). There will be drink and food specials for all "Bolt-Heads", plus, it's a great chance to meet with Coach Daleo, his assistant coaching staff, and the Lightning Girls Dance Team. The radio show starts at 7 pm on 1440 WROK, but fans should come early to eat and mingle with the coaches.
Any further information can be obtained by calling the Rockford Lightning front office at 815-874-4232 or by visiting the team website.
