Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL. Pending league approval, Sirvalient Brown will don the Lightning blue and gold in the '04-'05 season. Brown has impressive college stats, and even more impressive pro stats.
Sirvalient played two years at George Washington University, leading the Atlantic10 Conference in scoring as a freshman. His career 20.9 points-per-game average is second in school history. In 2001, Brown attended the Chicago Pre-Draft Camp were he led the camp in assists and helped his team go on to win the camp championship.
Brown has spent the last two seasons playing in Uruguay and Puerto Rico. In Uruguay, he averaged 19-points per game. After moving to Puerto Rico, that stat dropped to 15 ppg, but he shot 57% from the field and 34% from 3-point land.
"Sirvalient's game is very similar to Allen Iverson's," says Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo, "in fact, they are great friends! I hope Sirvalient will fit well in our system." Lightning Vet's Camp begins on November 4th.
The Lightning's home opener is on November 21st versus the Gary Steelheads. There are still a few great seats available. Season ticket packages start out as low as $63.00. Any further information can be obtained by calling the Rockford Lightning front office at 815-874-4232 or by visiting the team website.
