BOISE, Idaho - Rock Shoulders golfed a walk-off RBI single to cap a two-run bottom of the ninth rally, lifting the Boise Hawks to a 5-4 victory over the Eugene Emeralds at Memorial Stadium.

After a throwing error by Stephen Bruno allowed Ronnie Richardson to score from second to break a 3-3 tie in the top of the ninth, the hosts responded. Gioskar Amaya lined a one-out triple to right-center, scoring on a Jeimer Candelario RBI base-hit. After Willson Contreras singled, Shoulder blasted a ball to deep left, over the drawn in outfield to score pinch-runner Brian Inoa with the winning run.

Hayden Simpson picked up his first win with the Hawks, tossing four solid innings of relief. The former first-round pick allowed an unearned run on just one hit, tying a career-high with seven strikeouts.

Eugene took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, as Corey Adamson tripled home a run and scored on an infield out. Boise plated a run in the bottom of the inning on a Candelario solo homer to left, tying the game in the third on a Contreras RBI groundout.

The Ems would grab a 3-2 lead in the fifth on a solo home run by Brian Adams, but Contreras pulled the Hawks even in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single.

Candelario went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the win, with Amaya, Contreras, and Xavier Batista each recording two hits. No Eugene player had more than one hit.

Game 3 of the series is tomorrow night, with right-handed Tayler Scott meeting Will Scott at 7:15 p.m.
