Boggs Leads \'Birds to Victory

MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis used the Mitchell Boggs Show to beat Albuquerque 4-2 Thursday night at AutoZone Park.

Boggs earned the win with eight strong innings allowing one run, unearned, on four hits while fanning seven in his fourth victory of the year. At the plate Boggs went 2-for-3 with his second career home run, a solo shot in the fifth inning. Brett Wallace drove in a pair of runs going 2-for-4 to aid the ‘Birds winning cause. Dee Brown led the Isotopes going 3-for-3 hitting his 16th homer of the year in the top of the ninth.

Albuquerque starter Giancarlo Alvarado took the loss allowing three runs, one earned, on eight hits over seven innings. Jess Todd notched his league-best 20th save for the ‘Birds and moved into a tie for the third-most in a single season by a Redbird.

The ‘Birds and ‘Topes play tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. with Adam Ottavino on the hill for the home team facing Albuquerque's Charlie Haegar.
