Boby Named Player of the Week

September 25, 2012 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings News Release

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League's North Division, are proud to announce that forward Luc Boby has been named as Combat Hockey's North Division Player of the Week.

Boby, the 20-year-old, two year NAHL veteran, showed off his tremendous knack for the net during last weekend's two-game series against the Soo Eagles. With the absence of leading scorer, Robbie Payne, Kalamazoo needed someone to step up offensively. Boby answered the call with five goals over the course of those two games.

A native of Oswego, Illinois, Boby only registered 17 points in 54 games with the St. Louis Bandits last season, is already leading the NAHL with seven goals in six games, and has accumulated 10 total points. He also is tied for first in plus/minus with a rating of +10.

"Luc has made incredible developments since he has arrived from St. Louis," head coach, Marc Fakler said. "He is one of those guys that is always willing to step up to a challenge, and look to put the team on his back. He had a terrific weekend in Sault Saint Marie, and we hope for consistent production on that level from him."

The Jr. K-Wings will hit the ice again on Friday, September 21st at 7:30 p.m. in Sault Saint Marie, as they take on the Soo Eagles in their first divisional contest of the season. Tickets are always just five dollars at the door.
