Bobcats unveil schedule

Bismarck, ND Aug 1, 2006 . The Bismarck Bobcats, members of the North American Junior A Hockey League are pleased to release their 2006-2007 regular season schedule. The regular season this year will begin with the NAHL's fourth annual showcase to be held in Blaine, MN September 13th through September 16th. The Bobcat regular season schedule will commence the following weekends with a two game set against the Avalanche from Alaska and the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. This will mark the return of the Dogs and be the first ever game at Bismarck with the Avalanche. There will be 29 regular season home games this year, up one from last season. There is a good mix of games against seven NAHL teams. In addition to the Central Division teams from last year and the Alaska teams, the Bobcats will host the newest expansion club in the league, the Marquette Rangers, from Marquette Michigan. The Bobcats will also be visiting all of those opponents during the course of the season. A couple of highlights in the schedule include an home-away-home series with the Bobcats dreaded rival, the FM Jets with the weekend ending with a New Year's Eve Battle in Bismarck. Additionally, the Bobcats are canvassing the local schools to explore having a matinee game with students having a dog, drink and game admission for $5. This is the tentative plan on Halloween.
It will prove to be a tough battle as the Bobcats fight to get into the playoffs for the fifth of six years under current ownership. Four of the Central's six teams will advance to the playoffs after the season ends on March 31st. Season tickets, group tickets and individual game tickets are available at the VFW or by calling 222-3300.
