
Bobcats take Jets 3-0, 'Cats vs Outlaws This Weekend

The Bismarck Bobcats continued on their winning ways last Friday night with a big 3-0 win over instate rival Fargo-Moorhead. The Bobcats had won 5 straight while the Jets had lost 5 straight. With both hockey clubs hungry for two points the Bobcats would dominate from the start. Just twenty seven seconds into the game Bismarck forward Kurt Weston turned the red lamp on only to have the goal disallowed. The Bobcats would then end the first period scoreless. Just 2:24 into the second the Bobcat power play would strike. Derek Kohles unassisted beat Elliot Oakland for a 1-0 lead. Bismarck captain Ryan Kayfes would help the cause at the 15:12 mark when he scored on a boomer from the far point to put the cats up by a pair. Fargo-Moorhead battled only to have Jake Kramer turn everything aside. The third period was a good one. The Cats battled through an aggressive Jets line up, sinking an empty netter at the end of the game from Kurt Weston to win 3-0. Bismarck goalie Jake Kramer ended the evening with his first shut-out of the season turning aside 36 shots.
