
Bobcats Prepare for 2010 NAHL Draft

BISMARCK, ND - With their pre-draft tryout camps in Denver,Colo., and Prior Lake, Minn., now complete, the Bismarck Bobcats' staff is hardat work preparing for Wednesday's North American Hockey League Entry Draft, scheduledto start at 1:00 PM, central time.
"The Draft is an important tool for teams to pick up talentfor the upcoming season," said Bobcats head coach Layne Sedevie, "and with somany of our players moving up to the collegiate level following this year'sRobertson Cup run, we will be taking full advantage of the opportunities theDraft presents to fill the holes left by 13 departing veterans."
Amateur players less than 21 years of age on or beforeDecember 31, 2010 who are not listed on an NAHL team's roster or are listed onan NAHL team's roster but played less than ten NAHL regular season and/orplayoff games during the 2009-10 season and did not accept a tender from anNAHL team prior to the 2010 NAHL Entry Draft are eligible for selection in thedraft.
Each team will make selections in each round in reverse order of their finishin the 2009-10 NAHL regular-season standings. New member clubs will havetheir order of selection determined by lottery; those teams will selectfirst- the Bobcats' pick in each round will be selection number 22, as theyfinished fourth overall in the regular season standings behind Wenatchee,Topeka and St. Louis.
"The entry class of 2010 is definitely a strong one," notedBobcats head scout Aaron Kinslow, "and between our nationwide scouting effortsand our pre-draft camps, we are confident that we have targeted a strong cropof players to help Bobcat Hockey defend the Robertson Cup in 2010-2011."
The NAHL Entry Draft consists of the number of rounds necessary for each club'sprotected list to reach 30 players, which are made up of veteran players, tenderedplayers and drafted players. Each eligible NAHL team will have one selectionper round unless it has acquired or lost selections due to trades with otherNAHL clubs.
