Bismarck Bobcats News Release

After a long road trip that kicked off the new year consisting of a December 31 match-up with the Billings Bulls at the Metra Park Arena and two games in Fernie, BC, against the Ghostriders on January 2 and 3, the Bobcats were able to return home for a few days to rest before packing up once again and heading out to Alexandria, MN, on Friday, January 9. Needless to say, when the Bobcats were able to return to their home ice the following night, Saturday, January 10, the VFW Sportscenter was rockin' as the Bobcats rolled past the Fernie Ghostriders with no restrain.

Bismarck's Dusty Delisle, a 2003 graduate of Grand Forks Red River HS, was able clutch the loan goal of the first period at 19:08, which was assisted by JJ Koehler and Chris Mattson. The Ghostriders shot back in the second period at 8:37, but the Bobcats matched it at13:24 with a powerful shot by Clayton Rehm from Joe Adams, putting the Bobcats up 2-1. As the third period began, it was evident that the Bobcats were in control as another Grand Forks, ND, native was able to capitalize on a scoring opportunity from Shawn Bartlette and Dusty Delisle at 8:58. But it was Bismarck's very own Jake Hipp who was able to secure the win with a goal at 18:32 form Brett Sobolik and Clayton Rehm, making the final score 4-1 in favor of the Bobcats.

This Week: The Bobcats will depart Wednesday morning for Illinois to participate in the North American Hockey League Chicago Showcase. Held at the Arctic Ice Arena in Orland Park, IL, the showcase will feature all twenty teams of the NAHL and will begin Thursday, January 15 and will conclude Sunday, January 18. Here is a schedule of the dates and times of the Bobcat match-ups:

Thursday Bobcats (H) vs Sringfield Jr. Blues (V) 8:00pm

Friday Bobcats (V) vs Fairbanks Icedogs (H) 4:15pm

Saturday Bobcats (H) vs Toledo Icediggers (V) 8:15pm

Sunday Bobcats (V) vs Wichita Falls Rustlers (H) 12:45pm

Unfortunately the Bobcat games will not be broadcasted, but if you would like to listen to other games going on at the showcase, the Helena Bighorns, Bozeman Icedogs, and Billings Bulls will be broadcasting all of their games. You can listen by going to www.sportsjuice.com and clicking on the hockey link at the top of the page and then selecting the desired team.

However, Pointstreak will be keeping track of all stats that occur during the showcase so there will be up-to-date stats as they happen on the ice. Check the league website at www.nahl.com for more information regarding those statistics.

Bobcat Hockey would like to thank everyone for coming out to that game this weekend and we looking forward to seeing you the weekend of January 23 and 24 as the Bobcats take home ice once as they challenge the Billings Bulls and the Bozeman Icedogs!
