Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders have released national defensive lineman Kwadwo Boahen from the practice roster in order to allow him to return to the University of Alberta. The Stamps will retain the Calgary native's playing rights.
A third-round selection (22nd overall) by the Stampeders in last month's draft, Boahen appeared in two pre-season games for the Red and White and made a pair of tackles.
In 2022, Boahen played seven games for the Golden Bears, making 21 tackles and recording one sack. He transferred to Alberta after three seasons and 21 games at York. He was a member of the Ontario University Athletics all-rookie team in 2018 and accumulated a total of 55 tackles and five sacks during his tenure with the Lions.
Boahen played high-school football for Bishop McNally/Father Lacombe Laserwolves.
