In last night's battle between the Seacoast Mavericks and Bristol Blues, the Blues scraped together a 9-5 win to put themselves 29-21 on the season and come closer to clinching the division championship.
Willy Yahn (UCONN) continues to excite Blues coaches and fans last night as he knocked in three RBI's on two hits in the game and led the way for the Blues offensively.
The Blues bullpen impressed again as they chewed up five innings of work last night, with Wake Forest commit Rayne Supple earning the win. Blues starting pitcher Kyle Dube was able to go four innings, surrendering three earned runs on five hits in the no decision. Mavericks losing pitcher was Jake Walkinshaw.
The Blues are back in action tonight, August 5, as they travel to Torrington to battle in-state rival the Torrington Titans, first pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
