July 2, 2015 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL)
Bristol Blues News Release
The Blues earned their second win in a row tonight, July 2, with a 3-2 win over the Seacoast Mavericks at Leary Field.
The Blues fell to a two run deficit in the first inning and slowly chipped at the lead by scoring a run in the second and fifth innings and finally took the 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth. The Blues were able to hold on to that lead through the final two innings to earn the win and put their record at 14-9.
Blues starting pitcher Kyle Dube (Fairfield) was able to go seven innings, allowing only two runs on five hits with four strikeouts. Ty Robinson (Northeasten) came in for the save going the last two innings without allowing a run or hit, with four strikeouts, earning his fifth save in a row. Losing pitcher for the Mavericks was Autrey Gates.
The Blues are back in action with a three game home stand at Muzzy this Fourth of July weekend. Catch the Blues at home tomorrow night at 7pm to see them take on the Pittsfield Suns for military appreciation night where veterans and current service men get in for free.
