Blues Race to 6-3 Triumph
June 25, 2015 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL)
Bristol Blues News Release
The Blues are now 9-8 on the season and half a game back from the West Division leading Torrington Titans after last nights 6-3 win over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs.
The Blues started off strong by scoring a run in every inning for the first five, something they have not been able to do all season, and quickly got a 5-2 lead on the hosting Dirt Dawgs. The Dawgs were only able to get one more run in the game which just wasn't enough to fill the deficit. Offensively, the Blues were led by catcher Ryan Rinsky (Ramopo) and second baseman Zach Scott (CO Christian), who both drove in two RBI's.
The Blues starting pitcher, Dom LoBrutto (Florida International) was able to last four and two thirds while only allowing two runs before being relieved by Bristol native Michael Nocera (Merrimack). Nocera was given the win after working an inning and two thirds and not allowing a run. Ty Robinson (Northeastern) was given the save for going two innings with no runs allowed. The losing pitcher for Wachusett was David Griffin.
The Blues return to Muzzy tonight with Wachusett to finish the two game series. The first pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
