Last night, the Worcester Bravehearts came down to battle the hometown Bristol Blues in an interdivision game. The Blues and Bravehearts ended up going into the eleventh inning before a winner could be crowned, but sadly the Blues were not able to match the five runs the Bravehearts posted in the top of the inning to win the game. The final score was 9-6 in favor of the Bravehearts.
The Blues were led offensively by Davis Strong (St. Mary's) who had three hits and two RBI's on the game and a crucial run in the ninth that sent the game into extra frames.
Blues starting pitcher was Kyle Dube (Fairfield) who was able to go five and a third innings surrendering one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts. Bravehearts winning pitcher was Charlie Butler and Blues losing pitcher was Riley Streit (Amherst).
The Blues are back in action tonight, July 15, when the Torrington Titans come to Muzzy to play for the Mayor's Cup, first pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
