Blues Fall on the Road at Colorado Springs, 5-0

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 24th, 2015) - Orange County Blues FC traveled to Colorado for a midweek match against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, and the home side prevailed, 5-0.

Switchbacks took a 2-0 lead into halftime. Aaron King scored in the 18th minute off a cross into the box, and King's shot in the 40th minute just outside the box deflected off a Blues defender and into the net for an own goal.

In the second half, a Colorado Springs player was pulled down in the box in the 57th minute for a penalty, and Luke Vercollone finished from the spot. Two minutes later, Taylor Hunter sent a through ball to Mike Seth, who returned it to a charging Hunter who finished cleanly. Seth got a goal of his own in the 69th minute to put Switchbacks FC ahead 5-0, a lead they would hold for the remainder of the match.

OC Blues FC now holds a record of 5-6-1, with 16 points on the season. Colorado Springs improves to 9-5-0, with 27 points, putting them in 1st place in the Western Conference.

The Blues turn their focus to their next match, hosting Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 this Saturday, June 27th, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. PT.
