Hammerheads Head North to Canada

June 24, 2015 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC is set to travel north to Canada this week for two set matches in three days. The Hammerheads will play FC Montreal on Thursday, June 25 at 2:30 p.m. EDT at Stade Saputo and then Toronto FC II on Saturday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m. EDT at BMO Field.

Wilmington enters Thursday's matchup against FC Montreal following a road trip to Richmond that ended in a scoreless draw. Severe weather shortened the competition at halftime and both the Hammerheads and the Kickers each walked off seizing a point in the league standings.

The Hammerheads have yet to face FC Montreal or Toronto FC II during the 2015 USL regular season. Both teams are currently acting as bookends to the Hammerheads in the eastern conference standings. Wilmington (1-7-5) sits one point beneath Toronto FC II (2-5-3) and three points above FC Montreal (1-9-2).

"We are excited about our trip to Canada," said Wilmington Hammerheads FC Technical Director and Head Coach Carson Porter. "These are international games, which are great experiences for our players and a good platform for us to jump start our season."

Each game will be streamed live online via each team's YouTube channel.

Wilmington is scheduled to host their next home match on Wednesday, July 1 versus Saint Louis FC at 7:00 p.m. EDT at Legion Stadium. Flex packages and single tickets are available for purchase online. For more information regarding Wilmington Hammerheads FC, please contact (910) 777-2111 or visit www.wilmingtonhammerheads.com.
