Mississippi RiverKings News Release

Southaven, Miss--The Mississippi RiverKings have acquired defenseman Chris Pontes from the Pensacola Ice Flyers for defenseman Ryan Ramage.

The 6'2 blueliner has appeared in 9 games this season with the Ice Flyers, registering 3 assists. Last season, Pontes split time with the Laredo Bucks (CHL) and the Knoxville Ice Bears.

"We're happy to have him here," said Derek Landmesser, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "He brings a lot of offensive upside, and it'll bring a big addition to our back end."

The Sudbury, ONT native played his junior hockey with his hometown Sudbury Jr. Wolves (Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League) and appeared in 8 games with the Sudbury Wolves (OHL).

Great tickets are still available for the RiverKings' 20th Anniversary Season sponsored by Belhaven University. December 3rd is Autism Awareness Night. The RiverKings will wear special jerseys designed by CAKEtabulous, which will be auctioned off after the game. A portion of the proceeds will go to Assists for Autism. For more information on group tickets for Autism Awareness night, or for flex ticket packages, contact the RiverKings front office at 662-342-1755 or log onto www.riverkings.com.
