Mississippi Surge News Release
Adam Krug scored two power play goals, and the Mississippi Surge erupted for three goals in a 1:21 span in the third period to defeat the Louisiana IceGators 5-1 Wednesday night.
The four goal margin of victory is the largest of the season for the Surge, and the three goals in the third period is the most of any period this season.
Krug's two goals stretech his current point streak to seven games and he was also a +2 on the night. Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn, James Isaacs and Adam Stuart also scored for Mississippi. Brayden Metz had the lone goal for Louisiana.
The same two teams play Friday in Louisiana. The Surge returns home Saturday to host the Augusta RiverHawks at 7:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Following that game, fans will be able to go ice skating on the Coliseum ice.
