
Bluefish hold on to beat Ducks, 4-3

Bridgeport, CT - The Bridgeport Bluefish defeated the Long Island Ducks, 4-3, in front of 4,061 fans on Opening Day at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
The Ducks got the scoring started early as Chris Latham led off the game with a triple to center field off Pat Ahearne's first pitch of the game and later scored on a sacrifice bunt by Justin Davies.
The Bluefish tied the game in the bottom of the third as Angel Espada scored from third bade on a sacrifice fly to centerfield by D.J. Boston. The Bluefish pulled ahead in the bottom of the fourth as Jamie Gann scored after reaching base on a walk, advancing to second on a past ball, stealing third, and scoring on a Brady Williams single up the middle.
The Ducks scored again in the top of the seventh inning as Terrance Hill came in in relief for the 'Fish and walked in the tying run. The game was tied until the bottom of the eighth as Michael Coleman hit a solo shot over the center field wall to put the Bluefish up 3-2.
Long Island tied the game in the top of the ninth on a single to center field by Chris Latham that scored Dominic Ambrosini from second base. The Bluefish won the game on a bases loaded walk that brought Corey Hart home and improved the Bridgeport record on Opening Day to 7-1.
Bluefish starter Pat Ahearne went 5.0 innings giving up only one run on four hits while walking one and striking out two. Ducks starter Rodney Myers pitched 4.2 innings while giving up two runs on five hits while walking three and striking out four.
