BlueClaws start June with nine games at home

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Hickory Crawdads come to Lakewood Thursday, June 1, to begin a four game series with the BlueClaws at 7:05. Hickory, Class-A affiliate of the Pittsburg Pirates will be facing the BlueClaws for the first time this season. The Crawdads will have to face a Major Leaguer in Cole Hamels on Thursday night. Hamels will be in Lakewood making a rehab start while on the 15-day disabled list for the Philadelphia Phillies. Hamels has the second best ERA in Lakewood history and leads all BlueClaws pitchers with an average of striking out 13.86 batters per nine innings. The first 2,000 fans over the age of 18 through the gates of FirstEnergy Park on Thursday will receive beach bags courtesy of Kimball Medical Center.

Every Friday at FirstEnergy Park is a fireworks night and this week is no different. Toyota/Scion World of Lakewood proudly present a fireworks show following the BlueClaws 7:05 game against Hickory. Sully of NJN's Danger Rangers will also make an appearance at the ballpark. Saturday's 7:05 game will feature the entertainer corps, The Spitball Gang, new to FirstEnergy Park and presented by Commerce Bank.

Sunday marks the long awaited Bob Levy bobblehead give-away. The first 2,000 fans 18 and older will receive their bobblehead courtesy of WOBM-AM.

The Delmarva Shorebirds, an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, come to Lakewood on Monday for the first of five games against the BlueClaws. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 and the first 2,000 fans will be given a Phillies mesh trucker hat courtesy of Home Depot. Tuesday, June 6, at 6:05, the mascot entertainer, Blooper, will be on hand to amuse BlueClaws fans with his on-field antics during a double header with the Shorebirds.

Lakewood's home stand wraps up with a big name and a big show. Former Yankee great, Tommy John, will be at Wednesday's game against Delmarva at 7:05. John will throw out the game's first pitch and be available to meet fans and sign autographs. Thursday, June 8, will get kicked off with the Jimmy Buffet Beach Bash sponsored by the Borough of Seaside Heights. Following the 7:05 game, Toyota/Scion World of Lakewood presents a finale of fireworks for the conclusion of the home series.
