Last Chance To Register for Coaches Clinic New York Met Joe McEwing and former BlueClaws Manager Jeff Manto will head up instruction at the second annual Lakewood BlueClaws Coaches Clinic tomorrow (Saturday, January 31) at FirstEnergy Park. YOU HAVE UNTIL 5 PM TODAY TO REGISTER! You MUST BE pre-registered for the clinic. Contact Michelle Casserly to register at 732-901-7000, ext.171. The clinic is designed for all area baseball coaches, from little league to high school levels, and will include instruction in hitting, pitching, fielding, base running and fitness/game preparation strategies. For those who attended last year's event, the 2004 clinic will include new content.
Super Saturday Sale in the ClawsCove Joe McEwing and Jeff Manto will also be signing autographs in the ClawsCove from 1-2 p.m. and EVERYTHING in the store will be discounted 25 percent! The store will have extended hours and will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You do not have to attend the clinic to take part in the autograph session or to enjoy this Saturday's sale. The ClawsCove is regularly open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday during the off -season. Get Ready for Gus Macker's 3-on-3 Basketball Tourney The BlueClaws and Ocean County YMCA have teamed up to offer basketball fans of all ages the chance to compete in the area's first-ever Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The event will be held at FirstEnergy Park April 24th and 25th. The Ocean County YMCA and the Grand Slam We Care Foundation will receive proceeds from each team's $100.00 entry fee. Presenting sponsors are: the Asbury Park Press, 105.7 the Hawk, Clayton Block, Larson Ford and The Main Court.
Turning The Corner, Heading Towards Home! It's hard to believe that opening day at FirstEnergy Park is right around the corner. A total of 12 fireworks shows, which is twice as many as last year and TONS of fun is planned on the 2004 schedule. Phillies Visit Kimball Medical Center The Philadelphia Phillies were in Lakewood last Thursday. Manager Larry Bowa, pitcher Brett Myers and outfielder Marlon Byrd visited with patients at Kimball Medical Center.
BlueClaws Bobblehead Bonanza BlueClaws fans will have the opportunity to receive bobbleheads on five dates during the team's 2004 season. Lakewood has not had more than two bobblehead dates in any of its previous three seasons. Here they are:
