
BlueClaws Blank Shorebirds 2-0 in Game Two

Salisbury, Md. - The Delmarva Shorebirds (23-17) were held scoreless for just the second time this season as the Lakewood BlueClaws (17-22) took game two of the series 2-0 at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Tuesday night.
The BlueClaws scored the only runs of the entire game in the top of the first inning. After Shorebirds starter Scott Copeland retired the first two batters, Geancarlo Mendez doubled. After J.R. Murphy was hit by a pitch, Michael Dabbs doubled through the alley in left-center to put the 'Claws in front 2-0.
Neither team scored the rest of the night.
Lakewood lefty Jessie Biddle earned the win in six innings. He allowed five hits and no runs. Biddle fanned eight batters and walked just four.
Copeland was pinned with a tough loss in eight strong innings. He surrendered six hits and two runs. Copeland also struck out five batter and retired 14 consecutive between the end of the third and the start of the eighth inning.
The Shorebirds went without a hit in the final four innings.
The Shorebirds and BlueClaws close the series on Thursday morning at 10:35 a.m.
