
Blue Rocks Beat Dash in Suspended Game

WILMINGTON, DE (JUNE 18, 2010) - Wilmington held on to beat Winston-Salem 7-1 on Friday evening in the continuation of a suspended contest. The Dash and Blue Rocks were suspended by rain on Sunday with Wilmington leading 6-0 after three innings at BB&T Ballpark. Each team scored one run on Friday to account for the final margin.
Blue Rocks (30-37) lefty Chris Dwyer pitched the last six innings and earned the complete game victory, as he threw the first three innings on Sunday. He struck out 13 batters, including 11 on Friday evening. Charlie Leesman (7-3) suffered the loss, as he gave up six runs on Sunday afternoon.
Winston-Salem (42-25) brings a two-game lead in the Southern Division into tonight's seven-inning game, which is scheduled to start at 7:25 p.m. from Frawley Stadium. The Dash's magic number to clinch a playoff spot remains at two.
