WINNIPEG, MB – The following is a list of Blue Bombers achievements from their game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, July 8, 2004:

DAVE RITCHIE – 7TH PLACE CFL ALL-TIME WINS (TIE)

Dave Ritchie is one of the best coaches in CFL History. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers headman won his 107th career regular-season game Thursday to tie Bob O'Billovich for 7th place in CFL career wins. Ritchie got his 107 victories much quicker than "O.B." did – 31 games quicker to be exact.

RICKY BELL – GAME-BREAKER

Bell made three defensive tackles and provided great pass coverage throughout the game. On top of that, Bell had an interception return for 39 yards that set up a field goal and a 28-yard fumble return for a touchdown that broke the game wide open for Winnipeg. The touchdown – which gave Winnipeg the victory Thursday – was the first score of his CFL career.

MELVIN BRADLEY – IMPRESSIVE DEBUT

Defensive tackle Melvin Bradley made an impression in his Winnipeg Blue Bombers debut Thursday, recording the club's first quarterback sack of the season when he brought down Saskatchewan's Henry Burris in the 2nd Quarter.

DOUG BROWN – 100 CAREER DEFENSIVE TACKLES

He gets held, mauled, double-teamed and, sometimes, triple-teamed. Yet, despite the extra attention paid him, defensive tackle Doug Brown still gets the job done on defence. With two stops Thursday, Brown upped his career defensive tackles total to 101.

KEVIN GLENN – 50TH CFL GAME

Quarterback Kevin Glenn faced his former mates – the Saskatchewan Roughriders – for the first time Thursday. The game was his 50th CFL contest.

MARKUS HOWELL – 75TH CFL & WBB GAME

Wide receiver Markus Howell made a special teams tackle Thursday to go with a big block on Chris Szarka that sprung returner Keith Stokes free for a 25-yard punt return. The game was Howell's 75th CFL contest, all of which have been with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

KHARI JONES – 75TH WBB GAME

Quarterback Khari Jones played well in leading the Bombers to their first win of the 2004 season. The game was Jones' 75th in a Blue Bombers uniform.

MAURICE KELLY – 3RD PLACE WBB CAREER FUMBLE RETURNS (TIE)

The fumble return by Kelly gave him 12 for his Blue Bombers career. That tied him with James West for 3rd place in the football club's record books for fumble returns.

ELFRID PAYTON – WELCOME BACK "SWAC"!

It was a great homecoming for defensive end Elfrid Payton Thursday night. Against the Roughriders, the four-time CFL All-Star displayed the form that earned him Most Outstanding Defensive Player honors in 2002, recovering two fumbles, forcing another fumble and wreaking absolute havoc on every down.

CHARLES ROBERTS – 110 YARDS RUSHING

Runningback Charles Roberts was a key factor in Winnipeg's win over the Riders Thursday. He rushed 20 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns. The Bombers are now 14-0 when "Blink" rushes for 100 or more yards in a game (13-0 in regular-season and 1-0 in playoffs).

With 110 yards rushing, 23 yards receiving and 41 yards on kickoff returns, Roberts totaled 174 combined yards Thursday to surpass the 9,000-yard barrier for his career. He now has 9,135 career combined yards.

CHARLES ROBERTS – 4TH PLACE WBB CAREER KICKOFF RETURN YARDS

Roberts had only one kickoff return Thursday but it was a good one. His 41-yard return pushed his career total to 2,132 to better the career mark set by Eric Blount. Roberts now sits in 4th place in Blue Bomber career kickoff return yards.

CHARLES ROBERTS – 6TH PLACE WBB CAREER RUSHING ATTEMPTS

With 20 rushing attempts Thursday, Roberts moved up two notches in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers record books for career rushing attempts. With rushing attempts come rushing yards and that's exactly what Roberts produced Thursday, increasing his career total to 3,532 yards. That put him past Robert Mimbs' mark of 3,502 yards, which puts Roberts in 7th place in the football club's record books.

MARCUS SMITH – EIGHT DEFENSIVE TACKLES

Westwood now holds sole possession of 5th place in CFL career scoring with 2,242 points – five points better than Canadian Football Hall of Fame member Dave Cutler.

TROY WESTWOOD – 5TH PLACE CFL CAREER KICKOFFS

Westwood passed Cutler in another category: career kickoffs. Westwood now holds down 5th place in CFL career kickoffs with 1,036.
