(Calgary) â Today Calgary Stampeders' General Manager and Head Coach Matt Dunigan announced the free agent signing of receiver Ted Alford.

Entering his 1st season with the Stampeders ... originally signed as a free agent on July 10, 2004 ... most recently Alford spent parts of four seasons with the Arkansas Twisters in the AF2 ... while with the Twisters Ted played wide receiver and defensive back ... he recorded 127 catches for 1730 yards and 27 touchdowns ... in 2004 he played in 12 games recording 64 catches for 855 yards and 16 touchdowns ... he has spent four seasons in the Canadian Football League recording 184 catches for 2574 yards and 7 touchdowns ... was with the Toronto Argonauts in 2001 and 2002 ... his most productive year came in 2001 where he recorded 75 catches for 1172 yards and 4 touchdowns ... and was also named Eastern All-Star.
