August 9, 2019 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release

WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce the first-ever Intercept Cancer game presented by Lawson's Sales August 15th at IG Field.

During the game, fans will be asked to participate in a stadium-wide moment of silence honouring those have courageously fought cancer, followed by a cheer to support those who are currently battling cancer. Blue Bombers wives and partners along with volunteers from CancerCare Manitoba Foundation will be selling limited-edition autographed white cowbells at each gate. Four cowbells will be left unautographed - the lucky fans who purchase these special blank cowbells will be invited down for a meet and greet with players post-game.

Lawson's Sales will match cowbell proceeds and donations received up to $20,000 and all funds raised through the Intercept Cancer Game will be donated to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation to support screening programs.

Additionally, local band The Treble will be performing at halftime and fans are encouraged to wear pink.

The new Walby Burger will also be launched Thursday at Red Zone Grill locations behind sections 107 and 130. The Walby Burger includes six burger patties, six chicken tenders, six hotdogs, six pieces of bacon, cheese, pickles, lettuce, fries, onions, tomatoes, and a secret special sauce. Limited quantities will be available

Fans can purchase a special ticket to the Intercept Cancer Game by visiting www.bluebombers.com/intercept and use the promo code INTERCEPT. $10 from every $45 ticket sold will be donated to the Intercept Cancer fund.
